The Association Montessori Internationale was founded in 1929 to uphold, promote and propagate the breadth and depth of Dr. Maria Montessori’s vision, for the child. It is based upon a scientific pedagogical approach which seeks to comprehend the nature of human development from birth to maturity. Understanding development allows adults to prepare themselves and a suitable environment in which to enhance every child’s potentiality. AMI’s core mission is to realize Dr. Montessori’s ultimate aim: to place all the children in our world at the centre of society and to assist them in becoming the transforming elements – leading to a harmonious and peaceful humanity.
